At Carmel Valley Lodge, we’ve always been fussy about safety and cleanliness, but now we’re obsessed.  We share your concerns about possible exposure to the virus and we want you to know we’ve spared no expense in taking the necessary steps to protect everyone’s health, safety, and peace of mind.  We’ve completed our COVID-19 Clean & Safe Guidelines and we’ve been Certified by the California Hotel & Lodging Association.

 

 

  • We’ve posted signage throughout the property reminding everyone to be safe and observe safe practices.
  • Our entire staff is encouraged and empowered to observe and find additional opportunities to improve health and safety procedures and bring new ideas to the attention of management for immediate implementation.
  • The health of every employee is important to us and each one is happy to submit to temperature checks before starting their work-day.  Any employee who shows signs of illness, at any time, will not be allowed on property.
  • Guests who show signs of illness will not be allowed to check-in.
  • We’ve limited personal interaction and touch points during the check-in process.
  • Housekeeping and Maintenance staff has been trained and armed with proper protection, tools, and products to safely maintain, clean, and sanitize Guest Rooms including all hard surfaces, appliances, handles, knobs, TV remotes, and light fixtures.
  • Hand sanitizers and hand-washing stations are available throughout the property.
  • Virtually every touch surface in public areas such as chairs, tables, gate latches, and handrails are being cleaned and sanitized frequently throughout the day.
  • We’ve moved our Breakfast Service to the Lobby building where we can better manage safe seating distances and provide a full-time attendant whose only job it is to maintain cleanliness and sanitize touch surfaces. And if you’d prefer, we can arrange for your breakfast to be taken back to your room.
  • Furniture in front of the Event Center, on the Front Lawn, and in the Pool & Fire-Pit areas have been arranged so that social distancing guidelines can be observed.
  • We’re encouraging our guests to spend more time outdoors in the fresh air where there’s plenty of room to spread out and enjoy our lovely gardens in full-bloom.  Every room has a private patio or deck with a lovely seating area.  This is a great spot to enjoy a meal or glass of wine
  • We’ve relaxed our cancellation policy so that you never loose your deposit.  If you find you need to cancel a reservation with less than 72-hours notice prior to check-in time for a reservation you made between May 15th and September 30th, 2020, you will receive a credit voucher for full value of the deposit that was taken at the time of the reservation.  Cancellations made before 72-hours will receive a full refund of the deposit.
  • We’re triple sheeting our beds. Triple sheeting is a comfortable and highly sanitary solution that guarantees your bed is Clean & Fresh.  Even the pillows are double protected and then washed after each guest.
  • After check-out, rooms are not entered for at least 72-hours except to remove trash.
  • Employees are masked and gloved whenever entering and working in guest rooms.  Rooms are not entered again for cleaning for an additional 72-hours.
  • Cleaned and Sanitized Guest rooms are not entered again until the guest does.  If they are entered prior to check-in for any reason, they are sanitized again.
  • High-touch and difficult to sanitize items such as decorator pillows, bed saddles, and reading materials have been removed from guest rooms.
